Marketing Interactive – OCBC ‘dresses-up’ ATMs, turns functional to eye-catching

OCBC Bank has launched a new campaign called "The Great OCBC ATM Dress-Up", which features its ATMs being donned with various decorations. According to OCBC, ATMs are often seen as functional machines for customers to withdraw cash and banks’ messaging on them are a blind spot to customers. As such, it gave some of its ATMs in high-traffic and prominent areas a makeover to highlight some of its products and offers.

Some of the decorations were beach-themed, movie-themed, and even featured local delicacy "Teochew png kueh" (steamed glutinous rice cake). Its travel-themed ATM design located at Tanah Merah and HarbourFront ferry terminals, was aimed at tying back to the bank’s newly launched OCBC 90°N Card. While the popcorn-themed ATMs, located at Cineleisure Orchard and Shaw Centre, targeted movie-goers. And the Nonya Kueh ATM design was applied at Telok Ayer Food Centre and the Esplanade, which are popular and heritage-inspired locations.

The campaign is done in collaboration with creative agency OuterEdit. Additionally, all OCBC ATMs have a QR code that allows customers to scan with their OCBC Pay Anyone app to withdraw cash....

Commemorating Singapore’s Bicentennial in the UK

OuterEdit's Passion Made Possible Kaleidoscope Animation for Singapore Tourism Board makes a debut at London Bicentennial Exhibition "Singapore: Where Explorers Meet"

Singapore Bicentennial 2019

Singapore and the United Kingdom share a rich, deeply intertwined history. Sir Stamford Raffles’ landing in Singapore in 1819 was a key turning point in the country’s history, transforming our nation from a small fishing village into the thriving metropolis she is today.

This year, Singapore looks back on its historical connection with the United Kingdom, with the Singapore Bicentennial delving into our city’s rich 700-year past, and the founding of modern Singapore 200 years ago.

Singapore: Where Explorers Meet

Singapore: Where Explorers Meet, an incredible three-day event to commemorate the Singapore Bicentennial and showcase the evolution of Singapore through its heritage, culture and creatives, took place in London in June 2019.

 Singapore brings Techno-Garden To London

"Londoners have a chance this month to journey through Singapore’s history, via a garden installation filled with immersive experiences that integrate nature with the modern world.

Music, plants, food, drinks and cultural exploration will all come together to commemorate the 2019 Singapore Bicentennial.

2019 is the 200th anniversary of Sir Stamford Raffles’ landing in Singapore in 1819 – a key turning point in the country’s history.

As part of the commemoration, Singapore is landing in London intent on taking visitors on a techno-natural odyssey at Finsbury Avenue Square, Broadgate, 13–15 June 2019.

The event is curated by Singaporean and UK creative agencies, In The Wild and Bompas & Parr. Together, they will cast a wider lens on the spirit of discovery and openness of exchange in a dynamic city, which has enduring relations with the UK.

Visitors will be offered a slice of Singapore’s arts, music, dining and cocktail scene and there is a line-up of Singaporean artists, chefs and mixologists.

The techno-garden will depict what Singapore has experienced over 700 years – from the 14th century to the 21st century – and how key events in 1819 began a lifelong love affair between Singapore and the UK.

Visitors are urged to arrive early to get the chance to try Michelin starred chef Malcolm Lee’s inspired Peranakan dishes – flavours and tastes that are unique to Singapore along with botanical cocktails from a creative collaboration between Native (No.13 in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2018 and recently voted No. 4 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2019) and Lyaness, one of London’s finest drinking establishments. There will also be an opportunity to try the classic Singapore Sling from Raffles Hotel Singapore, which reopens its doors in August this year."
