City Nomads: When Neon Lights disappeared last year after stirring up the local music calendar in 2015 and 2016, we were worried. Was it yet another victim of Singapore’s seemingly stagnant arts scene? Did someone bring drugs in? Did floral shirt-touting hipsters litter the grounds too much? Thankfully, no such things happened, and the music festival returned earlier this month with three days of top-notch music and art performances. A big part of the event was plagued by rain and mud, but really, would it be any fun otherwise?

More home-grown talents to be used in tourism campaign

The New Paper: Eighty home-grown talents will feature in short films and promotional events overseas as part of the Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) second wave of marketing activities under the Passion Made Possible brand.

The brand targets tourists based on lifestyle interests, categorising them into "tribes" like foodies and explorers.

Three new tribes - culture shaper, socialiser and action seeker - were launched yesterday to showcase Singapore's arts and culture, nightlife and entertainment, and adrenaline-filled activities on offer.

The Straits Times: Theatre veteran Ivan Heng, comedy couple Rishi Budhrani and Sharul Channa, and indoor skydiving champion Kyra Poh are among the personalities who will represent Singapore in a new campaign to court tourists.

In all, 80 home-grown talents will feature in short films and promotional events overseas as part of the Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) second wave of marketing activities under the Passion Made Possible brand. The brand targets tourists based on their lifestyle and travel interests, categorising them into "tribes" such as foodies and explorers.
