S.E.A. Focus is a leading showcase and art market platform dedicated to Southeast Asian contemporary art, and the anchor event of Singapore Art Week. For its eighth edition in 2026, held within ART SG and commissioned by the National Arts Council, we developed a brand system shaped by the curatorial theme The Humane Agency, a reflection on empathy, interdependence, and the role of artists in times of change.
Translating this ethos into form, we expanded the S.E.A. Focus starburst into a modular network of connected units, where no element stands alone. The identity mirrors the exhibition’s core idea: that meaning is created through relation, between people, places, and practices, and that art, like design, becomes a quiet but deliberate act of care.

This art direction translates empathy and entanglement into a visual system of connection. By expanding and multiplying the S.E.A. Focus starburst, it forms networks of relation, each unit unique, yet interdependent.
Just as “The Humane Agency” speaks of artists refusing detachment, the pattern system visually resists isolation, every form connects, overlaps, and influences another. It represents the shared rhythm of diverse voices across Southeast Asia’s creative landscape.
This direction reimagines the S.E.A. Focus motif as a modular design system. It’s both systematic and expressive, symbolising the network of artists, galleries, and cultures across.

Applications
The art direction was translated into a flexible suite of social media templates: gallery spotlights, quotes, announcement frames, and end cards. The modular starburst system adapts across formats and ratios, creating continuity while giving space for diverse voices and information to come through.
