FLOWSTATE is the inaugural DesignSingapore showcase space at Boutique Fairs 2024, conceived as both an exhibition and an art installation to spotlight the next wave of local design talent. Designed to be bold, welcoming, and accessible, the space elevates designers and their works while inviting visitors to slow down, explore, and connect with the stories behind each piece. Guided by a belief that good design is human, inclusive, and thoughtful, FLOWSTATE pairs strong visual presence with simple, innovative materials and a commitment to sustainability, ensuring the experience extends beyond the fair itself through reuse and circularity.
Creative Direction
Through our process of designing the space, we wanted to reflect the natural rhythm of a designer immersed in their craft, where time fades and creativity flows.
While it may appear seamless and harmonious, achieving this "flow" is the result of relentless dedication. The journey is rarely smooth–it's a path filled with grit, struggle, and personal sacrifices. Yet from this process emerges simplicity and elegance.
With the concept of FLOWSTATE as our foundation, we worked with humble, everyday, raw, unassuming materials like these industrial cardboard tubes transforming them into elevated expressive, fluid forms.
A true testament to the resilience and ingenuity of Singapore's creative community proving that ambitious design can come from the simplest of beginnings.
