Establishing A Sense Of Arrival At Asia's Largest Dusk-To-Dawn Dance Festival

ZoukOut

Is one of the longest-running annual dance festivals across Asia. Bringing top-ranked nightclubs to the shoreline of Singapore’s Sentosa Island, ZoukOut is Asia’s largest dusk-to-dawn beach festival in the region.

Establishing the sense of arrival and presence at ZoukOut, OuterEdit is proud to have designed a series of installations for the festival grounds, including the main ZoukOut signboard and photo opportunity.

Come A Little Closer

Singing to the tune of ZoukOut’s 2017 ’Neon Tropics’ theme, we attempted to create a structure using neon strip lights, reflective materials and optical illusions that together was simple to appreciate, while at the same time evoked curiosity, and encouraged people to draw near to take a closer look.

Beyond Flashy Lights And Structures

We also hoped for the brigade of 45,000 party-goers to see this installation as their go-to spot for a memorable photo moment and possibly as one of their ZoukOut experiences they can fondly look back upon for some time to come.

ZoukOut Weekend

We were honestly overwhelmed by the amount of positive response the installations received over both nights on social media alone. There are of course there are some things we are itching to have done better on hindsight, but for now, we are content to have made a small contribution to one of the dance festivals we grew up together with.
