In an increasingly complex and volatile world, what does the future of design hold?
A keystone event of Singapore Design Week, Design Futures Forum was always one that designers, educators and industry experts anticipate, for a day of inspiring and provocative sessions.
In 2025, Design Singapore approached OuterEdit to give the conference a fresh, new spin, not just to design the key visual and collaterals, but also to design the entire experience of the event.

The visual identity for Design Futures Forum 2025 embraces a different lens on the future — one that is human, layered and tactile. It draws from the textures of analog media and mixed formats to reflect the complexity and depth of our design stories.

Emerging Tech is represented through an abstract, atmospheric lens — where electric blue tones and fluid forms evoke futurism, motion, and continuous evolution.

This green texture represents Sustainability through the structure of a leaf — highlighting systems of support, interconnection, and regeneration.

Care is represented through the emotional warmth of orange tones. The blurry texture adds an atmospheric feel, while the hands ground the image in human connection.

Collaterals
The visual identity was brought to life across every touchpoint of the event, from physical to digital. On-site, the layered and tactile aesthetic translated into textured standees, directional signage, and tent cards. It also extended seamlessly into presentation templates and stage screens. Online, the system evolved into motion, with animated graphics and social media visuals that pulsed with energy and depth, amplifying the forum’s spirit of exploration and dialogue across platforms.

Festival Experience
Inspired by the grandeur of the historical Victoria Theatre, our key visual was made to manifest beyond just traditional banners and signages. Peekaboo mood banners were designed to add a subtle nod to our event branding, a modular structure was designed to shape shift from a welcome kiosk to a photo op backdrop.

Partners Curation
To amplify the event experience further, we invited partners to come in to showcase their products — across coffee machines, furniture and food. A curation of food tech brands were selected to present their future forward creations, such as lab-grown strawberries.
A total number of 14 partners were brought together.

Studio Wilt
Studio Wilt's creative use of botanicals turned the forum into a living gallery and florals from the arrangement were made into take-home bouquets for guests.

Natalia Weaves
The textile installation created by Natalia Weaves at the entrance welcomed guests and subtly guided them into the venue to begin their experience.
